[ENGLISH] Goals for 2020: Are they still worth fighting for?

Black Dart Hit a Bullseye

Many of us have been excited to welcome the year with big hearts and overflowing hopes. Hope that will eventually push your goals and targets to reach their peak. Everyone hoped that this year is the year to push and aim for success. But, just few months ago, a so-called pandemic ruined each one of us. A tragedy that was never expected at all. An enemy that we cannot see nor touch. A battle that we should fight until the end. A situation that we need to find the purpose.

Christmas season is just around the corner. It was like nothing happened in the past seven to eight months - that all of a sudden time flied so fast. It was in the third month of this year that our lives began to falter. Month-on-month, you expect that everything will be alright and everything will be just fine. Depression and anxiety attacked each other's hearts. You lied down everyday and wished that this tragedy will stop. And then September came, one question popped in your mind - should you still celebrate the most wonderful time of the year? Do you still have the reason or reasons to celebrate? Maybe, yes, maybe no. But for me, to answer that question, I think it is still a YES - we had that one reason to celebrate - and that is we survived this battle. You are still breathing as of the moment you are reading this article. Be glad and be thankful that you've come this far despite of high number of cases that were affected by the virus and some also died because of fighting the battle. You are still lucky that you have food to eat on your table and still earning a decent salary or income from your job or business.

You and I both have goals for this year. And yet, you can't see the light if those are still reachable.  You are thinking if your goals are still worth fighting for. But how? You can't seem to see the reason nor the purpose why we are experiencing this kind of situation. Unemployment rate increased, several businesses shut down and many people are struggling with their day-to-day lives just to survive and continue to live. Still, you hold the hope that this year will still end brightly.

This year might be the worst year that happened in your entire life since you were born but one thing for sure - everything happened for a reason. You may not yet to find the answer or answers to your questions now but eventually it will come. You maybe asking also yourself if your goals are still worth fighting for, and for me, it is still a YES! 😊  I don't know any of your background but as you are reading this, don't loose hope. Our life is not about who will become successful first nor who will reach his/her goals first. It is about appreciating what you are right now, what you have right now - appreciate people who support you in your endeavors - be grateful to every single day that you wake up from your beautiful sleep.

Instill positivity in your hearts and the rest will definitely follow. Have faith and believe that the sun will shine soon the brightest in your life. It is now the time to set your priorities while searching for the answers to your questions. Don't give up - this is not the best time to do it as well. Hence, be strong and be brave to fight for your fears and anxiety. Don't waste your time dealing with negative thoughts. Reach out to your family and friends. Do things that will calm your mind. Speak to people who will most likely to share positive ideas with you.

If you feel that your goals are not quite reachable this time, you can surely change those and it is not too late to do that. Because of this pandemic, many had adjusted and things did not do well just as you expected. Just as the famous line says, "The best is yet to come". Don't be tired in waiting. Associate it with hard work and perseverance. Life is full of surprises - either good or bad - we should be used to it.
